Title: Rapid Prototyping of Active and Passive RF Components with Additive Manufacturing
Speaker: Kirill Glinskiy, IITP RAS
Abstract: This seminar explores the application of 3D printing technology in fabricating both passive and active components for wireless communication systems, including antennas, lenses, and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. The presentation highlights the advantages of additive manufacturing in this domain, emphasizing its ability to rapidly prototype complex geometries and customize designs. Particular attention is given to the enhanced speed and flexibility of the prototyping process, allowing for quick iterations and optimizations. Furthermore, the talk delves into how 3D printing enables the creation of novel structures and materials that were previously challenging or impossible to manufacture using traditional methods. The potential impact of this technology on accelerating research and development in the field of wireless communications is also discussed, showcasing how it can lead to more efficient and innovative solutions for next-generation wireless systems.
Bio: Kirill Glinskiy is currently pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Evgeny Khorov. He received his MS degree with honors in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2022. He is a researcher at the Wireless Networks Lab, Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include the application of machine learning methods in wireless networks and testbeds.
