Title: Aggregation Algorithm to Increase Throughput of Multi-link Wi-Fi 7 Devices

Speaker: Vladislav Paroshin, MIPT, IITP RAS

Abstract: The IEEE 802.11be standard introduces a revolutionary multi-link technology that allows simultaneous operation on multiple channels. To ensure data delivery, a multi-link device uses a single finite sliding window, which limits the number of sent packets. Therefore, the more packets are sent on one link, the fewer packets are left for the others, leading to a shortage of packets for transmission and a reduction in throughput. In the seminar we will address this issue. First, we will introduce a theory for the optimal aggregation algorithm. Second, based on the developed theory, we will present an aggregation algorithm that improves throughput by selecting a number of packets to aggregate. We will show NS-3 simulations confirming up to 50% throughput improvement over baseline algorithms.

Bio: Vladislav Paroshin received his B. Sc. degree in applied mathematics and physics at (MIPT) in 2023 and is currently pursuing his M.Sc. degree. Since 2021 Vladislav has been working at the Laboratory of Wireless Networks of IITP RAS. His research interests include development and research of algorithms for Wi-Fi devices, including those involving machine learning methods.
