Title: Methods for Improving the Performance of Multi-Link Devices in Wi-Fi 7 Networks
Speaker: Ilya Levitsky, IITP RAS
Abstract: One of the main innovations of 802.11be, the standard for Wi-Fi 7, is the multi-link operation. Multi-link devices can transmit or receive data in several frequency channels simultaneously, which increases their total throughput. However, in practice, multi-link devices have some peculiarities, such as inter-link interference or limited memory for storing packets. These peculiarities make optimizing channel access for such devices a complex scientific problem. The talk presents the main results of Ph.D thesis dedicated to developing multi-link algorithms and methods that improve the performance of multi-link devices in Wi-Fi 7 networks.

Bio: Ilya Levitsky is a researcher at the Wireless Network Laboratory, Institute for Information Transmission Problems at the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in the area of systems, networks and devices of telecommunications under the supervision of Evgeny Khorov. He is an active voting member of IEEE 802.11. He has authored 40+ papers and patent applications. His research interests include Wi-Fi technology, multi-link operation, MIMO systems, and software-defined radio prototyping.
