Andrey Tyarin and Kirill Glinsky won the “Science of the Future – Science of the Youth” forum competition.

Congratulations to Andrey Tyarin and Kirill Glinsky, graduate students at MIPT and memebres of Wireless Networks Lab, on their victory at the 10th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum “Science of the Future – Science of the Youth”!

Andrey Tyarin and Kirill Glinsky took first places in the “Engineering Sciences” and “Information Technology and Mathematics” sections, respectively. In total, more than 3,000 participants from research organizations and universities across Russia participated in the scientific paper competition. The competition was held as part of the “Science of the Future – Science of the Youth” scientific forum, organized by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Andrey entered the MIPT graduate program in 2021. During his postgraduate studies, he demonstrated his ability to design and prototype complex wireless communication devices using 3D printing. His research focuses on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces that expand the coverage area of ​​cellular networks and increase their throughput. His work culminated in the creation of a unique prototype of a user-controlled reconfigurable surface. The prototype has already been tested in practice for boosting the cellular network signal on a user device.

Kirill joined IITP RAS in 2019 as an MIPT student. Kirill has previously won a Russian Presidential Scholarship. Kirill develops new algorithms that ensure high performance of cellular systems in ultra-reliable low-latency communication scenarios. The algorithms operate at the physical and data link layers and leverage advanced machine learning methods.

Andrey and Kirill are currently completing their PhD dissertations under the supervision of Dr. Evgeny Khorov. We wish them a successful defense and new academic achievements!
