Aleksey Kureev, Senior Researcher at LISS MIPT and the Wireless Networks Lab of IITP RAS, joined the Coordination Council of Young Scientists under the Presidential Council for Science and Education of the Russian Federation

The Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education of the Russian Federation approved a new composition of the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education. The full list of council members was published on its official website. The new composition includes 36 individuals—representatives of young scientists’ councils, student scientific societies, and youth public organizations.
The idea of creating the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Science, Technology, and Education in 2005. For many years, the Coordination Council has remained an important feedback mechanism for the country’s young scientific community.
With the direct participation of the Council members, a number of initiatives aimed at developing Russian science were implemented, including events within the Decade of Science and Technology and the annual Congress of Young Scientists.
“This is a very important event for me. I am grateful for the trust and glad that I will be able to contribute not only to my laboratory and Phystech, but hopefully to Russian science as a whole. The areas of work are still being shaped, but I am certain that I want to invest my experience, knowledge, and energy into this activity”
noted Aleksey Kureev, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Intelligent Communication Systems at MIPT and the Wireless Networks Lab at IITP RAS.
“Aleksey’s significant role in engaging students in research activities is well known. He teaches a original course at MIPT that is extremely popular and leads a project funded by the Russian Science Foundation, carried out by a team of young scientists. His appointment is a completely natural step. We wish Aleksey success in his new role!”
said Evgeny Khorov, Head of these laboratories, commenting on Kureev’s appointment.
